A website is often a business's main marketing tool so it is important that your website stands out from the competition and is easy to use. Many potential customers are put off companies because their sites are tricky to navigate due to a confusing layout, overuse of animations and unwise colour choices, not to mention slow loading times. A sleek and sophisticated site design shows your business in a better light than a basic and boring design. JRCreations are experienced in making websites accessible and easy to use, which makes us an ideal candidate to design your website.
We also see the development of a website as a two way process: your input is valuable due to the fact that you know your target audience better than we do!
So what actually happens when you want a website?
Get in touch by email or telephone with basic details about the sort of site you're after, such as the number of pages required, the inclusion of Flash content etc. It would be advisable to provide any design ideas you may have at this stage because a portion of your quote will account for time spent designing your site - providing a design could reduce this figure.
Don't forget to leave contact details (an email address and daytime telephone number is ideal) so that we can get in touch when your quote has been calculated. You will normally receive your quote in 1-2 days, but quoting can take up to 7 days in busy periods.
Details about the two deposits requested during the process are also discussed now. (All deposits will be subtracted from the quoted amount when you pay for the site.)
Once a price has been agreed, and a primary deposit paid, work on the design can begin. This is usually quite a client-involved process because this is where decisions are made about how your site will look.
In some cases, clients prefer to leave the creative part to us. In such a case, we will come up with a design and present it to you either in person, via post or via email. Should any amendments need to be made, they will be made according to your specification.
Consultation with you is required before we can progress to the next stage: it is increasingly difficult to modify design elements at a later stage.
Now that a design is set in stone, we will begin to code your site for the Web, and optimise it for fast loading times and cross-system compatibility. A secondary deposit is required before this more time consuming and challenging stage can take place.
Due to the complexity of this stage, it can take a while for some sites. You will be given an estimated completion date when we start work.
By this stage the site is nearly completed; all that is required now is the content of your site.
Most clients simply send us content by email or in the post indicating what content they want, and where they want it. However, in some cases it is advisable to work corroboratively during this process.
Once the content is added, your site is complete!
Once you have approved it, we will invoice you. Payment is accepted by cash, cheque or PayPal.
Once payment is received, all we need to do is put your site on the internet, and this is done by renting a domain name and some server space. This can be a daunting task, but we will guide you through the process in our studio to ensure that it is done correctly.
Once hosting and a domain name is purchased and active (new registrations usually take 2-3 working days to become active) we can upload your site to the internet for the world to see!
When your site's content needs updating, please feel free to get in touch, and we will update your site according to your specification. Standard content updates are charged by the hour, and the changes will be visible online once we have received payment.
If you want a new design for your site, or an adjustment, this can be done as well, and in most cases will be quoted for.
Please feel free to contact us for your free quotation; our details can be found on the 'Contacts' page.
